Saturday

Perhaps I am begining to like this town. I have mixed emotions about that, because I'm leaving so soon. Must think more about it later...

What brought this on (in part) was the basketball game I went to tonight. My ensemble group often sings the national anthem for big games, and did tonight. My dad and I used to go to the Bluegolds Basketball games when I was younger. Anyway, for nostalgia and bonding-time reasons I invited dad to the game tonight, seeing as I get in free, and he'd enjoy it, etc. I had fun, too. The weird part was, the fun wasn't just nostalgia/hang out with dad fun, though that was most certainly part of it. I realized I know all but two of the players on the team, and I wanted them to win. It was weird. Usually, I don't even know or care when they're playing, much less if they win or not. I'm becoming attached to this community. It's an odd thing to experience all over again. Not bad, just odd. And a little sad, because now I know, in some ways, I'm going to miss this place. Even though it still drives me up the wall sometimes, and I still get homesick.

Life is funny. (Thought that's common knowledge, and many people have figured that out before me.)

Oh, incidentally, we did win.

Friday

Handel and Bach. I could go all day listening to Handel and Bach. If only I had that option. A pity we can't listen to music at school. I think it should be played quietly at all times. But of course, that's just me. There are a lot of people who probably wouldn't like that, which is fine. I'm listening to it now, instead.

I've completed two minor English assignments already tonight, which is good because that means I won't have to do them last-minute on Sunday evening. Especially since life has been a bit stressful of late. Job applications, scholarship applications, asking for letters of recommendation, semester projects, math class, illness. The list goes on. It's okay, and I'm not really bitter about it or anything, it's just, well, stressful.

Just cleaned Raskalnikov's bowl. I waited too long, it was pretty dirty. I just didn't feel up to it yesterday or the day before. Missed a bit of school, haven't been feeling too great.

There are a lot of things I want to do this weekend that I'm at a loss as to what to do first. I think I'm going to try to get most of my work done tonight. Oi. Good luck to me.

Monday

My sister is going to have a child.

I almost got hit by a big red SUV in the grocery parking lot today.

I'm going to be an aunt.

Not my car, mind you, but me, personally.

My brother-in-law is going to be a dad.

And then I almost got hit by a big maroon mini-van.

If it's a girl, her name will be Emma Dawn.

This time I was in my car, though.

And if it's a boy, his name will be James Scott.

It's not my fault, she had her turn signal on, and passed five places in which to turn.

James is the name of my brother-in-law's brother.

She got all angry and waved her finger at me.

Scott is my father's middle name.

I didn't appreciate that, particularly.

Dawn is my Aunt's name.

She had kids in the van with her, too.

It's a very pretty name, too; don't know where "Emma" comes from, though.

She could have slowed down.

Maybe they just chose it because it's a pretty name.

It's not like my tiny german car was going to do any damage to her psycho-huge van anyway.

I'm very excited about having a niece or nephew.

I wish people would stop trying to kill me.

Saturday

Note to bus drivers everywhere.

It is fine with me if you must listen to obnoxious music. (ie "Viva Las Vegas" "Achey Breaky Heart" etc.,) However, don't constantly mess with the volume control to make it impossible for those trapped in the bus to tune out the music in their mind.

Thank you, that is all.
So wow. The Two Towers was awesome. I've seen it twice now. I loved Helm's Deep; it was just amazing! Apparently the battle alone took four months of shooting. Anyway, yeah, great movie. Go watch it. Now.

I've heard concern voiced from my fellow geek girls particularly about Eowyn, and guys drooling and blah. To me, she looks like she's seven, so I'm not sure what all the drooling that I have seen is about, but I don't mind. Guys may talk about her all they like, as long as none of them challenge my geekhood when I say stuff about Legolas. :)

Anyway, yesterday was my first day back at school, and I got a sizeable English assignment due near the end of the semester. It's a 12 page research paper on the 1968 Democratic Convention. I started on it last night, and have worked on it a little bit today. I hope to finish it early, and maybe turn it in early as well, just so I can get my grade back and cease being worried about it. I also picked up a Wal-Mart application today- looking to get a job there, so I'll see how that goes. Wish me luck. (On the paper and the job!)
