Sunday

November has a history of being a really crazy or really bad (or both) month for me. I'll be back when it's over. *returns to secret hiding place*

Friday

I'm not one to post news stories like a crazed person, but this I had to put up. Yeah, a kid got hurt, but all kids get hurt. If nothing else, just read the title.

In other news, I'm very very glad that it's Friday. I've been testing nearly every day for a week now, and I'm happy to have the test-free weekend in front of me. Tonights' agenda consists of eating all manners of unhealthy foods, and rotting my brain on the internet, watching television, and playing video games. Somewhere, the members of some crazy parenting organization are collectively screaming. (As is "Dr. Sears".) Personally, I think that's great. They take everything too seriously anyway.

A couple of nights ago we had an away quiz bowl competition. There were 18 teams, we got second. Yeah, buddy- it's a nerd thing. Got a weird little medal thing and everything.

If you're not already using the phoenix browser, use it.

Whoo, I'm link happy tonight.

P.S. Made district choir.

Saturday

Milton Friedman once said, "Hell hath no fury like a bureaucrat scorned."

Darn skippy, Mr. Friedman. I spent two days trying to get a pre-approved absence form. Not filling one out, mind you, just getting one. Without success. It's a tiny school- four secretaries, two counselors, one principal. It should not be that difficult for me to get the paper. I came very very close to getting it once, but by recent decree of le principal royale (yes, I did just make that up), I can't get it until a week before my absence. Right. Okay. Glad someone told me that when I first asked. Arg. Actually, after I got over the initial frustration, the whole situation was rather humorous. Pity I couldn't see it at the time. Shame on me.

Today has been chaotic, so this evening I've been relaxing; cleaned Raskalnikov's bowl, read a little bit. I got up at five this morning to get to the SAT testing center on time. I think I did alright, but I won't really be sure until I get my scores. Hopefully, I will get a score higher than 1330 so I don't have to take the ACT again. There were only five of us testing; three of them knew each other. After we got out, I had lunch with mum at Arby's and we went straight to another town for my choir auditions. I don't think I did very well. I have found it's hard to sing right after taking the SAT and such. Life goes on, however.

And I'm very glad to have all of that done.
