Perhaps I am begining to like this town. I have mixed emotions about that, because I'm leaving so soon. Must think more about it later...
What brought this on (in part) was the basketball game I went to tonight. My ensemble group often sings the national anthem for big games, and did tonight. My dad and I used to go to the Bluegolds Basketball games when I was younger. Anyway, for nostalgia and bonding-time reasons I invited dad to the game tonight, seeing as I get in free, and he'd enjoy it, etc. I had fun, too. The weird part was, the fun wasn't just nostalgia/hang out with dad fun, though that was most certainly part of it. I realized I know all but two of the players on the team, and I wanted them to win. It was weird. Usually, I don't even know or care when they're playing, much less if they win or not. I'm becoming attached to this community. It's an odd thing to experience all over again. Not bad, just odd. And a little sad, because now I know, in some ways, I'm going to miss this place. Even though it still drives me up the wall sometimes, and I still get homesick.
Life is funny. (Thought that's common knowledge, and many people have figured that out before me.)
Oh, incidentally, we did win.
