I'm sleepy, but I want to write, as I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy. Really. I'm in my pajamas, and am under a fleece blanket. Warm and fuzzy. There's no denying.
I only had two days of school this week. Not even complete days, at that. Monday I went to the neurologist- I'm now on Depakote and Ultram. They're doing stuff whether or not what they've done is helping I'm not yet sure. The duration of my pain attacks has gone from about 10 seconds to over a minute, but they're less frequent, and less intense. It's an odd trade off. I also have to have my blood monitored, which, thankfully due to all the blood tests I had to have in Austin, I don't mind. I had an EEG (Electroencephalogram) today, which was... a very unique experience. I got these weird little dealies put all over my head, and I had to lie motionless, with my eyes shut in a dark room for 15 minutes. Which would have been fine except for a pain attack hit me about ten minutes in, and I couldn't move, which sucked greatly. And then I had to hyperventilate for about a minute. 'Nother pain attack. And then I had to watch strobe lights for about five minutes, and after that, about another minute of lying still with my eyes shut. I have goo in my hair. My hands still smell like hospital. It's all very odd. On the up side, my mother is having pity on me and fixing one of my faorite meals for supper tonight. I'll see the neurologist again on the 25.
I went to school Tuesday, and we had a snow day on Wednesday. I went to school today, but missed all of fifth hour and most of sixth for the EEG, and there's no school tomorrow. Not too shabby. I'm looking forward to sleeping. :)
Today I stayed after school to see the grade on my Government project from last week. We had 15 charts, on which we had to write a paragraph for each, and an essay over all of them at the end. It was an in-class project, and all I managed to complete was 7 paragraphs over the first seven charts and the essay. He gave me 90%. I said "Thank you," which really meant "Thank you, thank you, thank you for having mercy on me you wonderful human being! May God bless you!" I also got a 94% on a physics test I was worried about because I had missed the review day, and some of the classes, for various reasons, and I got an A on my pinch-pot, which made me happy as well. My mom absolutely loved it, so now it sits on our coffee table upstairs.
When we were coming home today, mom and I, she stopped at the dry cleaners to drop a pair of my dad's pants off. I sat in the car, keys in the ignition, car running, window down, doors unlocked, dozing with my eyes shut, buckled into my seat. It occured to me shortly after we moved here, in precisely the same situation, I turned off the car and pocketed the keys, locked the doors, rolled up the windows, and sat watching everything outside. I realize I'm not in "da city" anymore. It's not so bad.
